What is IVIED – First update
More than one week has passed since the last (initial) posting here on this weblog. Well I think quite a few of you will have wondered, what this is all about or what the name IVIED means.
First of all, this is now my new weblog for all updates. I don’t want to continue the ATIE blog, because my Erasmus semester is over now. By the way, my old Livejournal weblog will also not be continued any more. So it’s time for something new. But IVIED is not just a name for this weblog. I also plan to use it as a kind of a “brand name” for my art work, the first piece of which you will be able to see here very soon.
One more thing I want to mention is, how I got the idea for this name and what it means. Well, I stumbled across this word, when I was looking up something in the dictionary and I liked this word. “Ivied” means covered/overgrown with ivy, and ivy is this green plant, you can see in the header image.
So now that you know in general what it’s all about, I just want to start the updates and let you know what’s going on round here. Well, last Friday for example was the Open House at the FH Joanneum in Kapfenberg, the place where I study. I helped out a bit in the room where we presented slide shows with pictures of different people’s semesters abroad. There were not that many visitors but we told the ones who were interested about our time abroad and what an Erasmus semester is all about.
Because the annual Lan Party also started (as always) on that same day, visitors of the Open House had the possibility to play a game on the Playstation or test the new Wii. It’s really funny to watch when you see people swinging their arms around with the small white remote controls in hands as if they were tennis rackets. Well, yes they were playing tennis on the Wii but funny anyway.
So now that was it for now.
Next up, this Saturday: St. Patrick’s Day. I will give you an update afterwards. Until then!
