In the first part of this series I wrote about an Irish and an Austrian band, Director and The Staggers. Well this time – by coincidence – there is Delorentos from Dublin and The Base from Graz, once again an Irish and an Austrian band.

The four guys of Delorentos just recently released their debut album “In love with detail” and I have to say, what I heard of it so far is absolutely great. I especially like the songs “Basis of everything” and “Eustace Street”. The latter one reminds me of the many nights we spent in the city centre of Dublin and especially of the Mezz which is in Eustace Street.

The second band for today is The Base from Graz. They released quite a few records over the last couple of years. Most of them didn’t get much attention although at least the song “Superboy’s better now” was played on FM4 from time to time. Now the three guys once again released a new album called “Things To Remember | Ways To Forget” containing rather slow and calm songs as well as songs that really rock like the fabulous track “I’ll make it home”. One thing that is common to all the songs by The Base is the distinctive voice of singer Norbert Wally.
